Two Sought Following Car Crash

Police are searching for two people who fled the scene of acar accident in Tempe on Monday.

An officer for the Arizona Department of Public Safetyattempted to pull over a red Dodge Stratus for failing to yield while headingwestbound on Interstate 10 shortly before 1:50 p.m. on Monday. According to astatement issued by Harold Sanders, a spokesman for the Arizona Department ofPublic Safety, the officer stopped pursuing the Dodge due to heavy traffic, andlost sight of it near Ray Road.

The driver exited on Warner Road and collided with anothervehicle in the intersection, Sanders said.

Tempe Police responded to a call about the crash andwitnesses reported that the two occupants of the Dodge fled the scene on foot.

DPS continues to investigate the accident.
