An El Segundo man bound for Arizona was killed when thepickup truck he was riding in flipped over in the desert near Needles.
Officials say 42 year-old Adrian Thomas Hindle died afterthe 4:15 a.m. accident. A 38 year-old Hawthorne woman, who was driving the car,and her son were both seiroulsly injured.
California Highway Patrol officers say the 2005 ChevySilverado 2500 swerved into the center divider of the eastbound 40 Freeway,crossed over several lanes and flipped over near Goffs Road, about 30 mileswest of Needles, a city near the borders of California, Arizona and Nevada.
Hindle is survived by his wife an two children, ages 17 and19.
