According to police the accident occurred shortly after 8:30 a.m. near the intersection of South Tucson Boulevard and East Bilby Road. Tucson Fire Department spokeswoman Tricia Tracy said that there were five vehicles involved in the wreck.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene and at least two people were temporarily trapped in the wreckage, according to Tracy. She said both people were later transported to local hospitals with serious injuries.
