The deaths of two people at an Arizona sweat lodge are beinginvestigated as homicides. The deaths were originally thought to be anaccident.
Police say they are looking into whether the combination of severalelements led to the deaths including improper medical care, dangerousconditions of the sweat lodge, and criminal negligence on the part of theowners.
James Arthur Ray, the leader of the camp, is being looked at aspotentially liable for the deaths. He claims the police are persecuting him inthe media.
Ray told the Huffington Post “I find it very interesting the policeare trying to escalate the case in the media, and frankly, I think theescalation should be in getting the facts. We have one goal and that is to findout what happened so that it never happens again.
Two people have died in the sweat lodge and nineteen others were madeill and rushed to a hospital.
