Two construction workers in Phoenix sustained third degree burns aftera crane swung into power lines and shocked them. The accident occurred at aconstruction site near 25th Avenue and Broadway Road.
Officials from the Phoenix Fire Department say a crane operator wastalking to another worker through a headset, who was working in a trench 40feet below. The crane operator apparently moved the crane into a set of powerlines which shocked the two men through the headsets.
The two workers suffered third degree burns to their ears, head,chest, and legs from the shock. Both men were transported by emergency medicalservices to a Valley hospital for treatment.
The names of the workers have not been released. The Federal OccupationalHealth and Safety Administration are conducting a full investigation into theaccident.
